New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), Corona, NY
Programming for Air Models (1998)
Two primary programming tasks and several software support tasks were performed.
The programming tasks involved integrating EPA models ISC3 and BPIP using batch files,
and integrating EPA models MOBILE5B and CAL3QHC/CAL3QHCR using batch files.
In their original form, outputs from one program have to be manually input into
the next program, which results in considerable loss of man-hours when different
scenarios have to be run. With these executable batch files Korlipara Engineering
has enabled NYCDEP to run them automatically, i.e, outputs from one program are read,
reformatted, and automatically input into the next program. Korlipara Engineering
also customized input routines in EPA’s Screen3 air quality modeling program to
accommodate NYCDEP needs (e.g., user does not have to start all over again if a
mistake was made anywhere in the long chain of needed inputs). All programs were
written in Digital Visual Fortran 5.0. Also, Korlipara Engineering helped NYCDEP
setup a system for managing all their air quality software on a common Windows NT
network server.
Fanning, Phillips and Molnar, Ronkonkoma, NY
Performed troubleshooting of WIND2 budget tracking and project billing software using
Visual FoxPro to rectify customization problems and generate enhanced reports.
Farnell Relay Products, Huntington Station, NY (Currently part of Arrow Electronics,
Melville, NY)
Performed troubleshooting of various hardware and office software problems on office
computers and solved the problems.
